Bubbly toes

This was yesterday's success story.  I like the rope here... and the baby foot. I wont explain now why a baby foot but ill get it to you. Its darkly funny for the moment :)

Today's thought was about hanging

How the piece is framed by or its orientation on a wall makes so much difference to how it is enjoyed.
I found today the idea of 'hanging' itself challenging.
How,
How high?
Which way
Why on white?
What light?
Etc

And ultimately how is the meaning affected by these differences-?!

So to start the exploration, I put the piece on the floor . The Piece is the orange and blue undulating surface.
After walking around it, I decided it was good in two orientations and so that is narrowing the possibilities a bit. Then to hang it needs strong rope- the thickest I had was unfortunately black, and the contrast was ugly.
I wanted the piece to explode of rope from under its undulations,   and to an extent it happened but  I was not satisfied.  The rope was in charge because of its colour.
Shame...
So to bring attention back to colour and surface rather than drawing in space, I burnt the rope so that the inner turquoise layer pushed out, but it wasn't effective enough. .. so I painted the rope a similar color.  Partially painted didn't work...
So all the rope became blue.

But some got on the wall and now the wall is blue... I like that.
I think  it needs no rope and a blue wall.
Good day
