19th nervous breakdown

Alright

So its T- 24 hours until I install this show.
It's T-3hours until I unpack my mystery experiment kiln.
And its T-0 until I need a coffee to make it all seem do-able.

Maybe that simple fact - that coffee can influence my perception of scheduled tasks- is contributing to the view that I too am a mystery experiment, a collection of chemicals reacting to chemicals.
Yeah that's a big maybe because it implies I dont have control over my decisions or enthusiasm and only the pseudo-perception of control.

But is that not what drugs prove !?

I want to believe that I am responsible for my ideas and general 'ness.... perhaps.my responsibility begins with mouth and what I eat, before what I think. but the decisions that lead to the 'eat' is that of the thought so each influences the other. and thats how vicious eating circles begin.

writing artist statement; its harder than you think, *pun

I am tired of seeing pretty girls faces. Im far more interested in reality. Not the gritty bits of ugly ‘reality’, but the balanced interconnectedness of action and reaction. Everything reacts to everything else and it is a fascinating thing to capture, something you can do with ceramics without having to worry about specific contexts.
Ceramic is earth, and so it will always reflect natural patterns and effects, to the point where wether I want it to or not, the piece can develop itself.  Unbound by canvas shape or conventions, my only limits in what I make is what temperature I reach an the size or my kiln. It’s a painting with nature, not of nature.
